Hugs and Mugs Café has worked hard towards meeting the social, economic and environmental sustainability standards required in order to provide Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee.  Being Rainforest Alliance Certified supports farmers and communities, protects land and waterways, preserves biodiversity, and improves the incomes of coffee farmers.  Hugs and Mugs works hard to meet the rigorous criteria required to get this certification so that we have the opportunity to give back to communities and the environment.

We also participate in the 1 Percent for the Planet program which is a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing dollars and doers together to accelerate smart environmental giving.  This is just another way we choose to give back to our community and the environment.

Finally, we use compostable cups and straws to help protect our wonderful planet from the harm done by waste.  Additionally, we are environmentally aware and use only clean energy.  Overall, we are one of the most environmentally conscious cafés out there.
